Similar to the other poster, I too was blown away by the play ability, smooth low action right on the deck, and great pickups. I'm a guitar tech that toured with metal bands, and I had no issues pulling those tones out of this guitar. I played it for 5 minutes, and then walked over to the counter and said it's sold. I am also a collector of guitars from that era and earlier.
Your story with the salesman said these were made to compete with Samick.... Well mine has a sticker with a model number. SARC302S Punch that into google with the word guitar, and you get this.....
